New Baptist Minister Welcomed

The Rev. J. D. Jensen, who has arrived from the Mt. Eden charge, and Mrs Jensen were welcomed this week by members of the Whangarei Baptist Church. Presiding was the .Rev. Knowles Kempton, a former pastor at Whangarei, and now president of the Auckland Baptist Auxiliary. The Rev. W. Elliott, president of the Whangarei Ministers’ Association, spoke, as did the Revs. Skinner, Allen (Hikurangi) and Bell, and Major Wyatt. Welcomes on behalf of the church people were extended by Messrs V. Cook (secretary), C. R. Lovatt (sen-

ior deacon), H. Mutton (Sunday School superintendent and choirmaster), J. P. Edwards (Bible Classes), Ford (Christian Endeavour), while Mrs Whaliey addressed Mrs Jensen on behalf of the B.W.M.U. Items were rendered by the choir, and songs by Mesdames C. Cutforth and Cook, and Misses Eleanor Hughes, E. Mutton and the Mystery Minstrels.
