Ellerslie Track Trials

[Special to “Northern Advocate AUCKLAND, This Day. Conditions were perfect at Ellerslie this morning for training operations. British TaTent and Tybalt ran six furlongs in 1.18. with nothing between them at the end. Hot Shot sprinted four furlongs in 57sec. Sigurd, Kelly and Knight of Australia set out for a round. Sigurd pulled hard early and soon established several lengths’ lead, but Kelly and Knight of Australia both came at the end, and there was little between Sigurd and Kelly at the finish, with Knight of Australia close up. Miss Bridge, who is improving, ran seven „ furlongs in 1.33 3-5, Little Willonyx assisting over the last half mile in 51 1-5. Veyana sprinted half a mile in 57 1-5, and Bronze Fire six furlongs in 1.21 1-5", the last three in 40sec. Gay Bell had something in reserve at the end of half a mile in 53sec. Pasture covered five furlongs in 1.6 1-5, the first two furlongs in 26 3-5. Lady Acushla and Valspear had nothing between them at the end of a round. Bronze Emerald was going well within himself throughout a round in 1.52, the last six furlongs in 1.24. The Best Effort The best effort over a round went to Royal Message, who recorded 1.43 2-5, beating Valmint by several lengths, Valmint’s time being 1.45. "

Silver Glow assisted Royal Message over the last five furlongs, which took 1.7. ; . Hinehau and Acre's Beauty ran five furlongs in 1.7 2-5, the last three in 40 2-5. . Stratford and Morning Mist sprinted three furlongs in 39 2-5. Melvanui being given an easy round iri 1.59 2*5. *

Clinch, who leaves tomorrow night to race at the Hawera meeting, ran six furlongs in 1.23 4-5. Clansman jumped two pony hurdles and' then two of the bigger ones. Rarotonga gave a very encouraging display over four hurdles. Orate’s task was two of the pony hurdles. Brazilian jumped the pony hurdles carefully and well. , Vaalso, with the pace on over the last two, jumped four hurdles in great style.
