Canada Swift To Hit In War Effort
OTTAWA, February ,22. The Canadian Attorney-General, Mi Ernest Lapointe, in a broadcast in the French language, said the Government was as well prepared for war as any peaceful nation could be. It had acted swiftly to prevent the blunders which characterised 1914. Referring to Dr. Manion’s proposed national Government, Mr Lapointe said Canada was not inclined to repeat the experiment of 1917 and would not risk seeing a divided Canada or the existence of the confederation endangered! The world admired Canada’s achievements in the last five months.
