The North Auckland Farmers’ Cooperative Limited report holding the following sales during the week: Tangowahine On Monday we had a small sheep fair in Blake’s Yards, Tangowahine. Competition was keen through and everything changed hands under the hammer at satisfactory prices, which were as follows: Fat and forward four-tooth wethers, 22/8; two-tooth ewes, small, 20/ to 24/; four and sixtooth ewes, £1 4/2; four-year ewes, 19/8 to 20/0; five-year ewes, 15/9 to 16/10; four and five-year ewes, 19/; full-mouth ewes, 12/ to 14/; ewe lambs, 16/; wether lambs, 8/6 to 11/9; one-shear Southdown rams, sgns; aged Southdown rams, 21 to 4gns. Waipu Tuesday, we held a sheep and cattle sale at Waipu. Competition was quite keen for all classes of stock and prices were as follows: Forward conditioned wethers, 18/10; store wethers, 17/ to, 18/3; fat ewes, 16/6; aged ewes, 7/ to 10/6; good store iambs, 11/6 to 13/; small lambs, 8/3 to 9/9; one-shear Romney rams, 4gns; aged rams, 7/6 to 10/; springing cows, £6 5/ to £7 2/6; springing heifers, £5 7/6 to £6; heavy fat cows, £8 to £8 12/; light fat cows, £6 to £7 2/; fat Jersey cows, £4 15/ to £6 2/6; 18-month Shorthorn steers, £3 16/; heavy boner cows, £4 to £4 7/; medium boner cows, £3 5/ to £3 17/6; light boner cows, £2 to £3 2/6; potter cows, £1; light fat steers, £9 10/ to £9 15/; cows and
calves, good, £8; boner bulls, heavy, £8 to £ll 11/; lighter, £5 10/ to £7 15/; light boner bulls, £2 10/ to £4 17/6. Ohacawai Wednesday, at Ohaeawai, we had a fair yarding of cattle and competition was keen throughout. Prices were as follows: Springing cows, £5 10/ to £7 17/6; springing heifers, £4 15/ to £6 12/6; light fat bullocks, £9 10/ to £lO 2/6; heavy fat cows, £7 to £8 12/; light fat cows, £5 15/ to £6 14/; fat) Jersey cows, £4 17/6 to £6 1/; heavy boner cows, £3 15/ to £4 6/; medium boner cows, £3 to £3 14/; light boner cows, 35/ to £2 18/; medium weight boner bulls, £5 15/ to £7 18/; 18month steers, £3 10/ to £4 2/; cows and calves, £4 10/ to £6; 18-month Jersey heifers, £4 10/ to £5 2/6. Kamo Kamo, Thursday, we held our third sheep fair. The yarding was rather more than the advertised numbers, and although the attendance was not large, prices held up fairly well, lambs being in very keen demand. Goings Sheep Fair At Going’s sheep fait, Marlow, Friday, we had a rather smaller yarding than usual, but every sheep yarded changed hands. A line of well-fattened two-tooth wethers from Mr Going made 26/8; other two-tooth wethers, 17/9 to 21/; four and six-tooth ewes, small, 19/; aged ewes, 8/6 to 14/6; fat ewes, 16/6; store lambs, good 13/ to\ 13/6; smaller, 11/ to 12/3; small lambs", 8/ to 10/10; aged rams, 5/.
