Y.W.C.A. News
On Thursday night of this week, the Business Girls’ Lyceum held their opening function for the year in the form of a mystery hike. They divided into two groups, each of which was given instructions how to find the first clue, which, in its turn, gave, by map. or directions, the place of the next clue. So they hiked from clue to clue, till they found the “treasure” in the letter-box of Mrs W. J, Court, of Cross Sreet. They finished the evening’s programme at Mrs Court’s residence with supper and a "stunt” prepared while hiking. A committee, comprising Missßlakey (general secretary), Misses Robertson, Bauer and Wiley, has been set up to decide next week’s outdoor programme. The Citizens had planned a “scavenger hunt,” but, owing to rain, they held a social club night at the home of Mrs Jones, Woodhill. Games, acting, nursery rhymes and discussion of plans for the Citizen party on March 8, filled a most /enjoyable evening. At supper, the girls sang a song of thanks to Mr and Mrs Jones, and Lorna Studd thanked them for their gracious hospitality. The evening finished with singing and “Taps.”
