Arrangements to enable New Zealand consignees to obtain delivery of goods on German vessels shelterig in neutral ports were referred, to by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, in an interview last evening.
“Following the example of the United Kingdom and Australia, where chambers of commerce have been authorised as the sole agencies for the recovery of goods, the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand have been invited to act in a similar capacity for New Zealand owners of goods on these ships.” Mr Sullivan added that New ZeaJand owners of these goods would probably learn from the Associated Chambers within a few days what action they should take to enable the chamber to make arrangements for delivery of goods to them.
