LONDON, February 22. The French official morning communique regarding the Western Front reported: ‘‘East of the Moselle an enemy raid was driven back. Two German non-commissioned officers were made prisoners by one of our patrols.” The night communique stated: “There was artillery action by both sides, especially west of the Saar .and east of Blies. Also, there was increased activity by both air forces between the Moselle and the Rhine and over Alsace.” Luxemburg is strengthening her frontier defences, especially on roads and bridges.
