Kellerman Cup To Blakeley
SWIMMING
[Per Press Association. —Copyright] WELLINGTON, This Day. The Annette Kelierman cup harbour swim was held yesterday afternoon. The conditions were good, although the water was cold. A large crowd watched J. C. Blakeley (Wellington) win in a thrilling finish with P. Malthus (Wellington) over the last lap. They kept together to within 30 yards of the finishing-point, when Blakeley made a final spurt to gain a length on his opponents at the finish. Blakeley established fastest, time, taking 78 minutes 15 seconds, which is regarded .as the fastest time ever recorded in this race. There were 24 starters, 16 finishing. The third man, C. Kidd (Otago) was about 40 yards away, three yards in front of P. Ryan (Hawera). .The ethers were well back.
