Maungaturoto W.D.F.U.
There was a good attendance at the February meeting of the Maungaturoto branch of the W.D.F.U., over which Miss Edna Cullen presided, in the absence of the president, Mrs Knightbridge. After business was dealt with, a paper on the “Economic Position of New Zealand Women” was read. Competitions were held and were won by Mesdames Arnold Cullen, Foster Mcßae and Miss Cullen. A request for clothing of early periods for the parade at the Centennial Exhibition was made. Messages of sympathy were sent tc Mrs Fred Cullen and Mrs Sands, members of the branch, who'are at present not enjoying good health. A dainty afternoon tea was served and the trading table did good business.
