Mrs Ross Retires From W.I. Presidency

Resignation of Mrs Ross, as president, was received with regret at a meeting of the Whangarei Federation of Womn's Institutes Executive last night. Mrs Ross was afterwards entertained to luncheon at the Balmoral Tea Rooms. On behalf of executive members, Mrs Simmonds expressed regret at the resignation of Mrs Ross, speaking of the esteem in which she was held by ell, and of the untiring manner in which she had worked during her time of office. As a token of appreciation from the executive, Mrs Simmonds then presented a compact to Mrs Ross. Other members also expressed regret at Mrs Ross' decision to leave the main executive position. Mrs Marwick, formerly vice-presi-dent, has been appointed actingpresident.
