All Black Leaves For Ngaruawahia
Included in the party of 24 artillerymen who left Northland for Ngaruawahia today was Charlie White. Wearing his Maori All Black jersey and tipping the scales at 16 stone, Charlie looked capable of carrying an howitzer on his shoulder. Seventeen recruits joined the party at Whangarei station.
