Petrol Rationing Here Will Help To Win War

Copyright ] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. “From the lips of the Chancellor ot the Exchequer (Sir John Simon) himself, I have had it definitely that this country can help Britain greatly in regard to dollar exchange by reducing its petrol consumption,” said Mr P. Fraser at a civic reception last night. “It has been emphasised,” Mr Fraser said, “that it will be a valuable contribution to the war effort if petrol c,an be rationed. • “When I think, of the sacrifices and suffering of the people of the Isles, it seems but a small contribu-* tion for us to use less petrol.”
