Enthusiastic Good-Bye At Dargaville

, An enthusiastic farewell was given 27 members of the first draft of the Maori Contingent. The Mayor (Mr Raymond Gibson) expressed the pride the district felt that 250 Northland Maoris had enJisted.
It was.an example which the rest of the Dominion, particularly Europeans, might well follow. The draft is in charge of Lieut. L. W. Paror'e, eldest son of the late Chief Pouaka te Awha, and Sergeant M. Stevens.
