If You Hire A Car You Must Drive Yourself
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”J • NAPIER, This Day. A prosecution stated to be the lirst of its kind in New Zealand was brought before the Napier Court. The charge was that Charles George Swiggs had allowed another person to drive a car which hacl been hired in his name. It was stated that Swiggs allowed a girl to take the wheel of a car which he had rented. In view of the fact that the prosecution was *the first of its kind under the ne wregulations, the Court took a lenient view and Swiggs was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
