Waterfront Beautifying Scheme
A beautifying scheme for the Whangarei waterfront esplanade, prepared by the Harbour Board Engineer (Mr W. M. Fraser), was approved by the board at its last meeting. The plan allows for the construction of a footpath running parallel with the existing fence and for the laying down of four flower beds, each twelve feet long, with five feet of grass between them.
In addition to the flower beds, which will be built within rockeries, three trees are to be planted, each within a cairn of stones.
