Kawakawa School’s Break-Up Concert
KAWAKAWA, This Day
To mark the termination of another school year, the staff and pupils of the Kawakawa District High School recently staged a highly successful concert in the King’s Theatre. Mr. J. R. Bayliss, headmaster, and his staff, deserve credit for the manner in which the children were trained.
Miss Joan Strange played the accompaniments, and at the conclusion of the programme, Mr. A. I. Skudder, on behalf of the school committee, presented the head girl prefect, Miss Betty Clifford, with her Higher Leaving Certificate! The programme comprised few individual items, but a wide selection of songs, recitations and plays from all classes at the school was presented.
