Two Bowlers Take 19 Wickets For 81 Rams
Star bowling performance, not only of the day but of the season, was provided in the Senior B game between Central and Kamo A at Kamo. Central batsmen had .a difficult time in dealing with the deliveries of Baleman and F. Lester, who secured 19 wickets between them for 81 runs, and only escaped being beaten outright by a small margin. Central scored 34 in the first strike, Bateman taking four for 13 and Lester six for 17.
Kamo replied with 84 (Abbott 15 not, out, Wells 17, Madden 12), Roycroft taking seven for 46. Bateman and Lester again dealt out trouble in Central’s second innings, the former taking six for 16 and the latter three for 25. In the first three overs of the second innings Central lost four wickets for nine runs, Bateman capturning the hat-trick by clean bowling two and having the third caught, while Lester secured the other wicket.
