Whangarei’s New Youth Campaign

With the outbreak of war. the Whangarei Y.W.C.A. felt that special efforts should be made for the girls of the community. During her recent visit to Whangarei, the National Secretary (Miss Ethel Law) spoke of the increased activity planned, and the Whangarei branch determined to play its part. A garden party at Cintra on Wednesday is the first move in its campaign.

“Early in the New Year a new secretary is taking over here,” said a vice-president of the Whangarei Association (Mrs R. T. Tudehope), “and we want immediately to commence a scheme that will consolidate the work already done in this district, and push the influence of the association still further afield. “We know the opportunities for youth work are here. We want town and country girls alike to benefit.” “Nothing can be done without money. Because the young womanhood of Northland is to benefit from our efforts, we know the public will give generous support” Mrs Tudehope concluded.
