’Change: Business Is More Active

Business was more active on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning, and sharp movements in values were reflected in some of the sales recorded.
Bruce Woollen shares showed an improvement of 5/5 since their last sale in May. while Mt. Kasai goldmining shares were up 1/9 on the lastsale price. Other changes were minor in comparison with the foregoing. ■ Further easing in Woolworths (N.Z.) brought their value to 16/-, the lowest for some time, and Woolworths holdings were also down Transactions in Farmers’ Auctioneering and New Zealand Breweries were made al reduced rates, but leading Australian industrials*- including Broken Hill Proprietary and G. A doctor, M. Joseph van de Meulebrceck, aged 63, has been appointed burgomaster of Brussels in succession to Burgomaster Max.
