“Inspector Hornleigh” Makes His Bow At Regent A new character in the list of fictional detectives made his screen bow at the Regent Theatre last evening when a new programme, which will be offered again to night, was presented. Gordon Harker is “Inspector Hornleigh” and his dumb-bell assistant is Alstair Sim. The two combine somewhat after the Sherlock Holmes-Watson manner, and provide first-class entertainment in the solving of a murder mystery and the theft of State secrets. Harker carries off each situation with aplomb, and displays a gift of cutting repartee in dealing with his suspects. George O’Brien rides again in the second feature, “Racketeers of the Range.” An Arizona cattleman, he fights a combine which threatens the existence of the ranchers with a dictated price. Gun-fights and fist-fights are frequent as he sets about solving the difficulties of the situation and routing the opposition.
