Tempest, the most fancied candidate for the Caulfield Cup, was badly in - jured by a motor-truck while proceeding to the training track early yesterday. and was later destroyed. The rider, was thrown, and his log and ribs were broken. Tempest. by Windbag from Solar Star, was valued at 5000 guineas, and was owned by F. G. Scarfe.
