Special to “Northern Advocate'' j AUCKLAND. This Day.

The alleged conduct of the “Hard Up" Bal', organised by the Auckland Commercial Travellers’ Association in aid of the Mayor's Centennial Fund, is still the subject of comment in Auckland.

At a meeting cf the Auckland Diocesan Churchmen’s Association a resolution was carried s'.ating that the executive viewed with alarm the evidence ctiered cf the disgraceful conduct which was alleged to have taken place in the town hall on the occasion cf the “Herd Up” Ball. The resolution requested the city council immediately to take slops to ensure that a repetition of such behaviour should

be impossible. When the motion was referred yesterday to the president of the Commercial Travellers' Am'-ociation, Mr P. C. Muir, he declined to comment. A resolution concerning the ball was submitted to the congregation at the Wes' Street Church of Christ, last night, and was endorsed by a standing vote. The resolution stated that the officers of the church, acting on behalf cf the congregation, urged that any funds raised at the ball should be refused, and that steps be taken to prevent any similar function being held in the town hall in the future.
