Enthusiastic Centennial Meeting At Kamo

Kamo showed great enthusiasm when Mr K. Hayr, Centennial Organiser, addressed a meeting last night, suggesting that Kamo should participate in the Queen Carnival at present being held to raise Centennial Funds.

It was agreed to back the scheme wholeheartedly, and an executive committee under the chairmanship of Mr W. Markwick was set up. Mr W. Whitelaw is secretary, and other members are Messrs A. Wilkinson, Ogle, J, Finlayson, C. Whiteman and Mesdames Markwick and Finlayson. The executive has power to add to its numbers.

An apology was received from Mr R. Finlayson. who, however, promised every support, and from Mr M. Mclnnes.

j Messrs Wilkinson and Markwick ! were appointed to the sub-committee ;to interview likely candidates. By I this morning three candidates Wad ' come forward. An historical sub-committee consisting of Mrs Benoit and Messrs W. G. Johnston, F. Wakelin and T. J. Griffin was set up. Eventually Kamo will combine with Purua in fostering a Princess.
