Coming-Of-Age
Mr and Mrs W. N. Hills were host and hostess at a cheerful party on Monday night, for the coming-of-age of their daughter, Ada. Mrs Hills received her guests in a frock of rust silk marocain, and Miss Hills wore salmon pink taffeta. Games and competitions, M.C.’d by Mr J. Hills, were entered into with gusto. A musical competition was won by Miss Kath. Griffin, while a musical “bobs” competition was won by Miss Noreen Kelly and Mr B. Castle.
Items were given by the following: Vocal solo: Miss Ada Hills; violin solo: Mr Alwyn Lane; pianoforte solo: Miss Nancy Beehre. The accompanists were Miss Margaret Lane and Mr Norman Hills.
The beautiful cake which graced the table was made and decorated by Mrs Hills, and boasted the traditional candles.
Miss Hills thanked her friends, and the evening closed with musical honours for the guest and her parents.
