ISpecial to “Northern Advocate” J AUCKLAND, Monday.

To consider applications for the triennial renewal of licenses for goods transport service and to fix prices in the North to be charged by carriers for the whole of the Northern counties, the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr. E. J. Phelan, will make a Northern tour this week, leaving Auckland tomorrow morning. A sitting will be held at Dargaville tomorrow afternoon and at Whangarei on Wednesday to deal with licensing applications, of which over 100 have been lodged with the Department in Auckland. On- Thursday and Friday the Authority will preside over a conference ' of representatives of carriers’ associations, farmers’ organisations, dairy companies, businessmen and local bodies to discuss price fixation for the carriage of goods.
