Northland Golf Champs. At Kaikohe
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l KAIKOHE, This Day. The Northland amateur open golf championship is to be held on the Kaikohe golf links over the coming week-end. Indications are that a number of prominent players in Northland will be taking part, and a record number of entries are expected. The programme is to commence at 9 a.m. on Saturday, when the Northland Championship will be commenced. The event is to be decided over 72 holes, and 36 are to be played on Saturday and 36 on Sunday. A cup, presented by Messrs. Walker and Hall, is to be presented to the player who returns the best round for 18 holes in the championship, and a further trophy is to be presented to the competitor who returns the best card in a medal handicap match, to be held in conjunction with the championship, over 18 holes. A bogey handicap contest will be held over 18 holes on Saturday afternoon, in conjunction with the championship. An eclectic handicap over nine holes, and a stableford bogey handicap match, are to be held on Sunday morning.
Curing the afternoon, a medal handicap over 18 holes will be held in conjunction with the championship, and an 18-hole teams’ match is also on the programme.
