Huge Anti-British Demonstration by 7 Millions in Tokoi

A Japanese News Agency at Shanghai says that the Central China antiBritish Federation at Nanking passed a resolution proposing temporary custody of British property, to be returned when Britain changes her attitude to events in China. The Governor of Hongkong has approved of the conscription of ablebodied Britons for defence. Some 2500 are affected, 1700 of whom are liable for consequent service, 750 having volunteered. “The Times” says that if the Japanese introduce extraneous subjects in the Tientsin conference, for instance, co-operation, Britain will announce that she will not discuss matters prejudicial to herself or to other Powers.
