Revaluation Means Loss To Hokianga

Despite a decision to increase the rate by Id in the pound, the Hokianga County Council will be £7OO on the wrong side of the ledger for the current year.
Revaluation of the county’s rateable land has reduced the capital value by £46,000, which at the old rate of lid In the pound, will show a loss of £2OOO In revenue to the council.
Budgeting on an 82 per cent, collection of the increased 1/- in the pound rate for the current year means that only £I3OO of the estimated loss will be recovered.
