Rugby League Trial Match Tomorrow

Northland Rugby League players are being given early opportunity to participate in the trials to select the New Zealand team to leave for Britain and France in July of this year. The first trial game in which they are interested takes place at Jubilee Park, Whangarei, to-morrow, when a combined Hikurangi-Portland senior team will meet Newton seniors, Auckland,

Present at this game will be one of the New Zealand selectors, Mr J. Redwood, Auckland, together with the Northland selector, Mr “Aussie” O'Callaghan, The match will be preceded by a junior fixture between Portland and Kensington. The other senior game to-morrow will be between City and Kamo United, at Kamo.

The City team will be selected from the following; V. Payne; L. Payne, Hirtzell, Pickrang, Meiklejohn, Crump, Dunn, Watts, McDonald, Murray, Bradley, Lacey, Ruddell, W. Lester, Hollows, Child.
