Good Wool Sale At Wellington

[Per Press Association. Copyright ] WELLINGTON, This Day.

At the fourth Wellington wool sale of the season held today, there was a, strong representation of Yorkshire and Continental interests, Germany being in the market for crossbreds and bellies and pieces, and Yorkshire, as usual, giving strong support. France was busy for fleece and pieces. Competition was exceedingly keen from the outset, but ft was obvious that limits were fairly rigid. As the sale proceeded, it became evident that growers were prepared to meet the market, for passings were comparatively rare. Early catalogues indicated that fully 90 per cent, was knocked down, and that some of the passings will be disposed of after the fall of the hammer.

Early prices showed Merinos at lOd to 10fld; Corriedale, 9id to lOd: Southdown, 9'd to 10|d; Lincoln, 10’d to lOld; three-quarter bred, lOd to lid; hoggets, up to 103 d for best and 9d to lOd for others; lambs, 8d to lOd; bellies and pieces, 7d to 83d; necks. 81 d to 91 d; crutchings, 8d to 9d; locks, 5d to 6d.
