Hokianga Coming-Of-Age Party

It was a night of celebration when Mr and Mrs W. G, Freese, of Whirinaki, gave a parly and dance in honour of the coming of age of their d'aughter, Florence Winifred, in the Omapere Hall last week. About 300 relatives and friends were present and were received by Mrs Freese, who wore a beautiful gown of black georgette, with silver accessories. Standing beside her double-tiered birthday cake, in a frock of white lace, with, red trimmings. Miss Frfeese listened to the many congratulations bestowed upon her, and eventually received the traditional key, and a beautiful gold watch presented to her by her parents.

A delicious supper was served in the new boardinghouse, some 200 yards along the beach. The dining hall,,like the hall, was beautifully decorated in a red and white colour setting, Chinese lanterns adding to the beauty. Among the guests were:
