Police Search For McKay Of Piha

The search for Gordon Thomas McKay, the Sydney businessman and alleged victim of the Piha fire mystery, lias extended to Christchurch.
Dominion-wide inquiries on a scale unpax-alleled in New Zealand crime history are being carried out with meticulous detail.
Armed with a head-and-shoulders photograph of McKay, and a sample of his handwriting. Detective J. J. Halcrow has this week canvassed every hotel in the city.
He has shown the photograph and writing to publicans with a view to ascertaining whether McKay had booked in at any local hotels.
The foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons has decided to press for the immediate introduction of compulsory service, says an Independent Cable Service message.
