Playing at Whangarei courts, in the B grade, the home team defeated Stanley Street by 12 sets to two, games being more even at 111 to 63. Results, with Whangarei players mentioned first, were:— Ladies’ Singles: Miss Cullen beat Miss A. Wilson, 8-3; Mrs Hawkins beat Mrs H. Webb, 8-2. Men’s Singles: A. D. Macklow beat N, Johnson, 9-4; S. Innes beat C. Rogers, 9-2. Ladies’ Doubles: Mrs Hawkins and Miss Cullen beat Mesdames Campbell; and Roberts, 8-3; Mrs Hawkins and : Miss Cullen beat Mrs Webb and Miss Wilson, 8-6; Mesdames Jones and Dyer lost to Mesdames Campbell and Roberts, 2-8; Mesdames Dyer and Jones beat Mrs Webb and Miss Wilson, 8-5. Men’s Doubles: Macklow and Innes beat Johnson and Campbell, 9-5; Fisher and Jones beat Hirtzel and Rogers, 9-3; Fisher and Jones beat Johnson and Campbell, 9-7; Macklow and Innes beat Hirtzel and Rogers, 9-1. i Combined Doubles: Fisher and Mrs Dyer beat Campbell and Mrs Campbell. 8-6; Jones and Mrs Jones lost to Hirtzel and Mi’s Roberts. 7-8.
