Mangamuka Stock Sells Well
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited report holding a stock sale at Mangamuka, when considerably more than the advertised number came forward. The attendance of buyers was quite good and a satisfactory sale resulted. Cattle prices generally were down on late rates but vendors met the market and practically everything was sold. Sheep: Fat wethers, good, 17/ to 18/6; good store wethers, 14/8 to 15/; best young ewes, 15/ to 17/6; soundmouthed ewes, 10/6 to 14/; lower conditioned, 7/ to 10/; best mixed sex lambs, 8/6 to 10/; smaller, 5/6 to 6/; shearling Romney lambs, 2i to 22 gns. Cattle: Light fat cows, £4 5/ to £5; forward cows, £3 to £3 10/; boner cows, £2 to £2 15/; boner bulls, £2 10/ to £5 10/; 2J-year steers, £6 7/ to £6-10/; good steer calves, £2 7/.
