Don't Forget Tomorrow’s Picnic

Don’t forget to-morrow’s picnic—a special treat provided by the North Auckland Forest Society for all those Young Northlanders who> entered for the Native Tree Competition arranged last year in our page. If you entered for the contest you are entitled to attend—and it’s going to he a grand day. All you have to do is ring Mr Deimehy (3228) or Kupe (2458) to-night. In addition to the bus provided by the Society, there will be room: for a limited number of non-competitors in private cars. Mr Dennehy says we’ll he only too pleased to take these additional young people if they are keen to participate In this ramble through the bush. Mr Holman—well-known Whangarei nurseryman—will .lead .the .nature ramble, and those who accompany him will learn much of bush and forest lore. If you did not enter for the competition but would like a place in one of the private cars, ring either Kupe or Mr Dennehy right away. There’s one other thing you must do, though (whether you are a competitor or not), and that is obtain the permission of your headmaster to attend the picnic. You can tell bun that Mr Dennehy is in charge of the outing, and that you’ll have an opportunity to learn much about the New Zealand bush. But of course, you simply cannot take off time from school without your headmaster’s permission. Once that is obtained you may ring up and “book your free seat.” The meeting place is the “Advocate” Office, and the time of departure is 10 a.m. You’ll need lunch, a cup, and there may be an opportunity for a swim-
