Godwits Offered For Slaughter
AUCKLAND, This Day. After their long migratory flight from Siberia fn October, godwits scattered throughout New Zealand will become legal game for sportsmen tomorrow. The season will extend until February 14, and the limit has been fixed by the Internal Affairs Department at 20 head a day. Numbers of the birds are to be seen on the Kaipara harbour and on the tidal estuaries of Northland at such places as Mangawai and Whangarei, and it is anticipated that many guns will be operating in these areas tomorrow morning.
