Flooding At Waipu
Tributaries of the Waipu River are much swollen by flood waters. The rainfall in the district has been particularly heavy, and the water has been backed up by incoming tides, covering many acres of pasture. In some instances farmers have had difficulty in getting their herds to the milking sheds on higher ground. With a continuation of the rain, fears, are entertained that stock would be endangered.
