Italian Eyes On French Possessions
(Received 10 a.m.) ■ LONDON, January 28
The- first official intimation that Italy is seeking actual French possessions was given by Signor Roberto Farinacci, Italian Minister without portfolio, who is at present touring Germany.
Speaking at Munich, he defined Italy’s territorial claims at Tunis, Jibouti, Corsica and Nice, Italy would never tolerate Tunis being in the possession of a country threatening southern Italy, said Signor Farinacci. Jibouti, under French rule, meant for Italy what Hamburg under foreign rule would mean to Germany. Corsica belonged to Italy by virtue to “language, race and geography,” while Nice had “put herself for centuries under the protection of the House of Savoy.”
