Germany Wields Financial Big Stick
(Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON. January 13. The “Daily Herald” alleges that the Governor of the Bank of England, Mr Montague Norman, went to Berlin be-, cause of a threat by Germany to force a crisis among a group of British private banks and embarrass the Bank of England by renouncing £40,000,000 of short term loans, owing by Germany. unless the refugee plan of the president of the Reich bank, Dr. Schacht is supported.
