Port Hedland Houses Blown Seaward
(Received 1.2 Noon.) SYDNEY, This Day.
Telephone news received at Perth from Port Hedland states that no lives were lost in the cyclone, but damage to property was extensive. Three houses were blown out to sea, and many others were demolished when the cyclone struck the town on Wednesday.
Cyclonic storms are reported from Darwin /to be sweeping north-east, and heavy monsoonal rains in the Netherlands, East Indies, have disorganised the air-mail services. It is expected they will take at least a week to recover from the set-back.
