1 . • 1 The Rev. W. G, Peate, who has arrived to take the position of Superintendent of the Paparoa Methodist Circuit, in succession to the Rev. S. Hindmarch (who has retired from the ministry for health reasons), is recently from Australia, where he was engaged in circuit work, and has also travelled extensively throughout the Commonwealth. Previous to entering the ministry, he was engaged in farming, arid on Sundays made long journeys on preaching s appointments, sometimes travelling 40 miles to a service. His country experience should prove valuable to him in commencing circuit work in Northland, and he is already making it his business to know every part of his wide circuit.
