Heather From
Nothing is. so real as: the Highland atmosphere of Waipu on Caledonian Sports Day: - -No one is so proud of the pipefilled atmosphere as Mr R. D. Campbell, who has seen more New Year’s Day sports than most people-, and Waipu sports in particular. But no New Year’s Day can go by without the appearance of numerous sprigs of genuine Scottish heather. Mr Campbell arrived at the sports ground yesterday well supplied with heather from Peebles, Scotland. Mr Campbell received ’two boxes of the heather and proudly displayed pieces of it at the sports. He was very proud of the “froach,” as the Gaelic terms heather, and there were few people who did not have the privilege of viewing his proud Scottish possession.
