Kensington Bowling Tourney Attracts Large Entries

The Kensington Bowling Club’s .pnnual full-rinks tournament compenced yesterday under splendid iveather conditions. ! The greens were fast, and good bowling was witnessed, a number of thp games being very closely contested. The tournament ,this year has attracted rinks from the majority of the Northland clubs from as far south as Helensville. President’s Greetings.

Prior to commencement of play, the president of the Kensington Club, Mr E, G. W. Tibbits, extended a welcome to the visitors, and in doing so, wished them the complimdnts of the season. At the end of the first day’s play, after three rounds of 18 heads, quite a number of teams were in'the running, and the fourth and fifth rounds produced " some exciting : games, asthose teams which were welTxip were playing particularly good bowls ih order to be at the lop of the tree after ■ the last round; ■; , Extra Head Played. Some of the games in the first round were very evenly contested and attimes an extra head had to be played, to decide the winner. Results are.—
