Another Big Machine For Onerahi
Witfi the advent* of a new highpower grader, activities on the Onerahi Aerodrome should be speeded up considerably. The original levelling work was being undertaken with one grader, but to enable the work to be completed in time for autumn grass-sow-ing, an additional machine has been forwarded to the 'drome. Work is being carried out in three shifts, and on at least one recent occasion, Sunday work has been required to make up lost time through wet weather. Completion Soon. Running the high-powered machines for only a few hours per day is an uneconomical procedure, and it is only by using them for the greater part of each day that full value can be obtained.
So much work is in hand, by the contractors that they must rush the Oner.ahi job as rapidly as possible. With .only a few days off at Christmas and New Year, the men engaged on the machines will have a busy'time for the next two months, as every effort is being made to have the levelling completed by the end of February. 7 ; ■s I
It is reported by the contractors' representative at Onerahi that work is proceeding very satisfactorily, and that there is every probability that the whole undertaking will be completed scheduled time.
