The Waitomo official count, including absentee and postal votes, gives Mr W. J. Broadfoot (National) a majority of 329, a reduction of 16 votes on the previous figures over Mr J. Jones (Government). The final figures are; Broadfoot 4858, Jones 4529. Majority for Broadfoot 329, informal 43.
