[Per Press Association. Copyrigtit .3 ASHBURTON, This Day.

With one absent vote to be dealt with, the position in the Mid-Canter-bury electorate is that Mr A. N. Grigg (National) has been elected by a majority of 75 votes over the sitting Government member, Mr H. E. Herring. The figures are as follows: Grigg, 5504; Herring, 5429. Majority for Grigg 75; informal 36. On the night of the poll, Mr Grigg had a majority of 48 votes.
