Skirmishes Continue On Czech Border

(Received 2.0 p.m.) LONDON, October 20

The Prague representative of the British United Press says an army announcement states that five Czechs were shot dead by German Customs officials in a frontier clash yesterday. He adds that during works in connection with rectification of boundaries Germans evacuated the village of Zelochovice, near Litogerice. The Czech patrol entered to confirm the evacuation and some of the townspeople lowered swastika flags from their windows. A Henleinist policeman dashed off to a nearby town and returned with German Customs officials, who fired on the Czech patrol, killing one soldier and three policemen. Subsequently, the mayor of the district was killed in further shooting.

A farmer* whom a German soldier recently wounded at Vazacka, has died.
