> Tlie president. Mr J. J. Sutherland, I presided over a small attendance oi I members at the annual meeting or the I North Kaipara Agricultural Association in the Garrison Hall, Faparoa. When the annual accounts as published recently in the “Advocate” were under discussion. Mr D. Withers raised the question as to what had been done in connection with the association obtaining control ot the Drill Hall from the County Council. Mr Sutherland said little progress had been made, but it was hoped that as the result of the recent visit to the district by the Minister of Defence, i discussions could be resumed with I seme hope of reaching finality. In ! answer to another question, the chairman said a large amount of overdue subscriptions had been written oil during the past year, but the balance showing was all collectable. The balance sheet and report was adopted. It was decided to communicate with the local football club with the idea of co-operating in the effecting of improvements to- the entrance of the showgrounds. On the motion of Mr Birtles, it was decided to take out a fidelity guarantee policy to cover officials of the association. Official Personnel, The election of officers resulted;— Patron, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, M.P.: president, Mr J. J. Sutherland; vice-, presidents, Mrs G. Dodds, Messrs G. Dodds, W. Collins and E. R. Jenkins; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Cairns; ladies’ committee, Mesdames C. H. Jenkins, E. R. Jenkins, W. Dodds, J. Massey, J. Jordan, J. J. Sutherland, J. G. Sutherland and Miss C. Jenkins; delegates, president and secretary; auditor, Mr E. G. Aickin. A strong men’s committee was also appointed.
