Political Tension In Poland
(Re°eived 2 p.m.) LONDON, August 29. The Warsaw correspondent of “The Times” states that the peasant party’s executive has issued a proclamation declaring that the political tension in Poland, especially among peasants, has reached a high point owing to the Government’s disregard of their moderate demands. This is exhausting their patience, and the correspondent adds that the executive has summoned the party’s great council. It is notable that subordinate officials prohibited publication of the manifesto, but the President cancelled the prohibition, f thus arousing hopes that the Government will compromise.
