Britain Asks Germany’s Help

(Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON. August 29. Britain is sending a Note to Berlin expressing the hope that Germany will join in peace efforts, states the “Daily Mail,” and also indicating Britain’s attitude in the event of war. The British United Press representative at Prague says Lord Runciman is developing a plan at a round-table conference meeting simultaneously with the Henlein party, and the German representatives, in the hope of a more rapid straightening-out of differences.

It is authoritatively stated that the Henlein Party’s conception of a settlement envisages local self-government on the lines of the Irish Independence. The canton system is most unpopular among the party chiefs.
